Makios IT Services was founded by current CEO Nils Desmet with the help of Finance Manager, Arleene Valles in 2006.

Nils has been working in the IT industry since 1997. For several years he was employed by a prominent component and peripherals vendor in the Netherlands where he was an account manager selling computer hardware. He was promoted to tradeshow manager and oversaw countrywide sales. Nils migrated to the United States from the Netherlands in 2000, where he worked as an IT consultant for Stanton Street Technology Group for over 5 years. After many years of managing the Network Services division he took the opportunity and bought the book of business from them to start Makios IT Services.

The field of expertise of Arleene has always been accounting which has been for a great part the secret of our success. She started her career at Petro Stopping Centers corporate office shortly after earning her BBA in Accounting. She moved on to the University of Texas at El Paso in 2002 where she worked her way up to Payroll Manager and where she stayed up until January 2008 when she came on board full-time.

The duo has been able to grow Makios IT Services into a mature company at a fast pace and the combination seems to work well for our clients. The quality and high standards that Nils brings to the table are complimented by Arleene's accuracy and financial discipline.

The company officially took shape on October 1st 2006. At the time the duo was still working out of a spare bedroom. In 2007 Makios IT Services moved into a commercial space on the eastside of El Paso. This event took the company to the next level and created a more productive and client friendly environment.
