Internal infrastructure changes

Effective July 1st Makios will have a new main telephone and fax number. The new numbers are:

Phone: (915) 217-2500
Fax: (915) 217-2501

These numbers will also be listed on the contact page of our website. The old numbers (915) 590-7774 and (915) 590-7775 will forward to the new main number, so you can still reach us. There has been no date set for when the old numbers will stop working, but we advise you to use the new numbers to contact us.

Ivan Flores joins the Makios support team

On May 3rd, 2010, Ivan Flores joined our network support team as Network Technician. Ivan previously worked at another highly credible IT firm where but was looking for a new challenge.

We are excited to have him on board with us and know that his skills and experience accompanied by a great amount of persistence will be a compliment to our team and the companies we service.

Ivan is a Microsoft Certified Professional and has many years of experience in the IT field, supporting desktops, servers, networks and cabling.

Makios hires Mr. Doede Zijlstra, OM

Makios is excited to announce the addition of Doede Zijlstra, our new Operations Manager. Doede moved to El Paso from the Netherlands with his wife and family late 2009. In his home country he was Managing Director of a large manufacturing company. With over 15 years of experience as an entrepreneur and director we are fortunate to add his skills and expertise to our team.

Doede is a proud holder of the Green Belt Six Sigma, a high rated merit recognition for Lean Manufacturing used in large manufacturing companies. This skill will directly benefit our team in staying on top of efficiency and making sure that we stay as effective as can be in all of our business processes.

The Makios team is excited about having a high level individual join our team, and help manage and grow the company further and help enhance our overall business processes.

Congratulations John on your achievement!

We are excited to announce that John has successfully passed the Microsoft Certification track and can now officialy call himself a Microsoft Certified Professional or MCP!

Being an MCP is important at Makios IT Services because is shows a level of competence and knowledge that is required to service our clients.

The track to become a Microsoft Professional is long and hard. We are proud to provide our clients with a team of technicians that has the proven skillset to work on the systems we support every day.

Welcome John Hoover, Desktop Technician...

The latest addition to our team is John Hoover. John started off with Delphi Packard as a Systems Analyst in 1990. After his move to Albuquerque he worked with Motorola/DEC as a plant contact, overseeing operation related to production. In 1996 John moved back to El Paso, Texas where he started his own business and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology. His last venture was with ADP, performing remote support for clients across the United State but could not find the challenge he was seeking.
John has already shown to be motivated in helping our clients and has a great work ethic. He likes to get things done in a thorough way and we are honored to have John on board and a part of our team!

Makios IT Services to a new location...

We are proud to announce that we recently moved our operations to a new location. We had been looking for several months and have finally found a better location to work more organized.

After some paint and some new fixtures we're pleased to meet you at our new location on 10730 Pebble Hills Blvd. The space provides a better environment to further growth of our operations as well as more room to work.

We are excited to have an office where we not only can be more creative, but we also can comfortably meet with our clients and eachother.

Welcome Arleene Valles, Operations Manager...

We are pleased to announce a recent addition to our team of Ms Arleene Valles. Arleene will be fulfilling the role of Operations Manager and will oversee the operations for all of the services offered by Makios.

Arleene graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration at the University of Texas at El Paso and has over 8 years experience in finance, business, accounting, and management. She worked at Petro Stopping Centers, LP, a publicly traded company, for several years. Her most recent position was Payroll Manager at the University of Texas at El Paso.

We are excited to add her skills and experience to our company and know she will be an important asset in better serving our clients. Having skilled and motivated people as part of our team is essential to our success.

Makios official Dell Registered Partner

Makios IT Services has been accepted to the Dell Registered Partner program with Dell Computer Corporation.

We are excited about this recent development because it allows us to become one of the first official Dell Certified Partners in the El Paso area and to further develop our skills and products.

Makios IT Services is motivated and stands behind the Dell line of products. We believe that the relationship we have established over the past 5 years will further benefit our clients and gives access to a larger offering of products and solutions.

Makios IT Services incorporates

On August 31st, 2007, Makios IT Services incorporated in the State of Texas under the name Makios Group LLC. We will continue to do business as Makios IT Services and operations will not be affected for our clients. In an effort to create a more structured business entity we found it important to setup our business the right way.

Makios IT Services now ESET reseller

We have always been committed to finding the right products for our customers. As technology changes we ensure that what we offer as a solution continues to meet the growing needs of our clients.

After much research and testing the antivirus protection market Makios has made a commitment to selling ESET's NOD32 as its main Antivirus solution.

The advantage of the products that ESET offers is the small footprint and the limited decrease of valuable computer resources needed for performance.

Makios IT Services rolled out several installations since October and has seen NOD32 be a light and effective product that helps keep systems secure without the overhead of other market leaders' products.
